F150 Ecoboost vs. F250 Diesel Screw?
Did any go through such a decision? I am going to buy a new truck and I am a little OCD about buying decisions. I am the kind of guy that needed a 8x12 shed, but ended up buying a 14x36 shed because it was the biggest that fit down my driveway... I figured, why the hell not as I have room in the yard, etc. No one ever complained about have too much storage space...
But, can you have too much truck? Will the F250 suck as a daily driver? I want a truck that is the right combination of 1) comfort as a family vehicle and 2) workhorse for when I decide to go rent a skid steer from United Rentals or haul 2 pallets of blue stone.
I don't see a trailer in my future, but I could definitely see a plow. I could see hauling a dedicated race car, snowmobile, or jet ski... but not a boat.
My gut says go with F150... but I keeping thinking how cool the diesel would be.
Any advice?

Get a 250. Always nice to have a diesel and the 250 will still supply ride comfort. The 350s ride too rough. My dad went from 250 to 350 back to 250. Plus it's always nice to have somethin u don't need rather than needing it and not havin it. I personally would take a diesel over gas engine any day

if u got the money and dont mind paying the extra price for diesel fuel and what not then by all means go for the f250 there nice and there practically as quiet as a gas vehicle so if u got the extra money to blow then go for it but if u not gonna be pulling trailers all the time then i would just stick with the f150

$100 oil changes, increasing emissions standards, higher fuel cost, worse mileage than the ecoboost, and pain in the ***** to get in tight spots around town.
For your situation. I say ecoboost all the way. I love super duty's, but unless youre buying one to work it like a truck should be worked, you dont need it.

Depends on what your buying the truck for...Are you going to use it as a truck? Are you pulling a load MOST of the time? My advise to people is buy a vehicle for its intended purpose or you may be unhappy. The 250 is a completely different rig than a 150. Its not a grocery getter. If your hauling big trailers...go with a 250..otherwise...get a 150...notice i did not say get a Ecoboost?? Hummmmm. Not hating...Just saying. (I'd wait one more year on the EB)
But in my opinion...The 250 is one of the most bad ***** rigs on the road. Don't even thing about rolling up on one and messing with it...A lot of these guys are running between 150 and 350hp power tunes on top of what these things came with stock. Some of these rigs are running around 900hp.. crazy fast... I digressed...

Last September 29th I purchased a 2011 6.7 f150, my avatar. I had a 7.3 and was impressed with the power of the new engine along with the bells and whistles that came with one. I had nothing but trouble with it and the mpg was terrible. I was getting nothing better than 15.6 on the hi way empty. In town I would see 12-14 and it would regen every 100 miles. Finaly I had enough and bought a ecoboost with everything on it and I am well pleased with it. I do miss the diesel a lot but the 150's maintainance is much cheaper and I am getting about 6 mpg better on the hiway with the 150. I save 100 dollars a month on fuel commuting back and forth to work traveling the same mileage. The ride is also much better in the 150. The new diesels are not grocery getters, if you are not working them than I would recomend a gasser.

I pretty much went through the same decision making process. In the end I opted for the F150 EcoBoost and in no way shape or form regret that decision. The F250 is a BAD***** ride...no doubt. But after figuring the price of diesel and higher costs for EVERYTHING on a diesel, combined with how much truck you get now in an F150, for me it was pretty easy to choose the F150. So far I couldn't be happier with the EcoBoost engine and that thing is FAST. It also hauls 11,300 lbs in my configuration. I got the 4.10 gears and max tow. I have a thread on my project if you want to check out what I'm doing to the truck. Maybe it will help you decide the F150 modded all to hell is better for you than an F250.

You didn't mention if price was a factor. It was for me so I went with the 150. I need it for towing (a light travel trailer) but it is also for daily driving. I was looking to add some options like the Luxury package and moonroof (ended up ordering an FX2) since I plan to keep the truck for a while (need something I will want to keep for a while). It would have cost quite a bit more to get a similarly equipped 250 like a Lariat. I was also worried about MPG.
If the price of the truck and cost of gas were not an issue, I would probably have gone with the 250.
