Extension Brackets for Running Boards install

Looks good ... just be careful not to drive them into anything and damage your truck. I changed mine out on my RCSB because they stuck out too far and too low. Yours look really good and of you keep it on the roads, you should be good. Good job on the extension brackets.

Honestly, I didn't put alot of effort into these....Just used a sawzall and drill, can of black primer and 20 minutes to install.

I would buy the Amp Boards except 1. I'm afraid they wouldn't function well here in the "Alaskan Winter" and 2. Every month something comes up to spend that $1100 on like Hockey Tickets, Beer, and College Tution (for the girls at the local strip club).

Great mod! I will be adding it to my to do list, Not sure why ford puts running boards on so close to the truck, or they should make a wider running board.

Well, I'v got them mounted but I think I'm gonna do some refinements and get my measurements accurate. The brackets I cut are 5 1/4 inches long. I couldn't find my step bits to cut the hole accurate, so they are very off at this point....just enough to get em on.
I used this from Lowes:
Simpson Strong-Tie Wood to Wood Angle Model #: ML26Z
I basically used a dremel and a drill and as waterboyjlw said takes about 20 minutes to get em on. (After the 2 hours of using the wrong tools to cut the holes) lol!
Anyways, I'm attaching some pics for now of my rough drafts.
waterboyjlw, all the thanks for posting this and responding to my messages. much respect for a simple yet needed mod

- Made with 12 gauge galvanized steel for strength and durability.
- Z-Max coating for extra corrosion resistance.
