Engine Swap Question
First off please excuse my ignorance I have attempted to find anything and everything I could to send me in the right direction. Now I am looking to reach out to so GURU's to get this done. Here's the skinny
I have a 2010 F150 Xl with the 4.6l 2v (the worst damn engine for this truck it was if they produced and forgot.) I am now looking to do a change from the 4.6l to the 5.4l from hopefully the same year range truck. Yes the 6.2 has been in my mind a time or two trust me just seems like it would be a lot of work.
I am pretty much looking for someone to lay it out for me in crayon on what direction I need to go to get this swap done.
I need everything from what in my current truck will still match up if I go a 5.4 and what all will be needed for the swap.
In the end I know that I want to change my transmission, motor, and possibly axles. Cost is well MEH so don't care for the buy a new truck response I get it that would be cheaper/easier. Lets put it this way I don't ****ING CARE.
Please send me in a direction that will lay out almost a parts list to I would need to perform the swap.
Thanks to anyone that posts helpful information and to those that still choose to post "Buy a new truck." EAT A DICK
Motor Specifics of my current
4.6L 2v (they do exist kinda like a unicorn for that year)
Its got a sad sluggish 4 speed
Stock rear gears (I'd look em up but hell I wanna change em ****s weak.)
2WD its works if you can drive so haters **** off
If you need any other information please let me know and I would be more than happy to give you anything. I'm looking for anything here guys so I can at least order a block and start building. I love my truck and shes not going anywhere. Rally is gonna be my new look. Any help would be amazing and greatly appreciated.
Sorry if anyone has been offended in this posting.
Here she is my pride and joy.

Thats going to be a heck of a project. Have you considered just building your current engine up some? There are hundreds of thousands of 4.6 2v mustangs out there that make plenty of power. Why not supercharge your engine? Youll get way more power out of a blower motor than a 5.4 swap. Just a thought. I understand wanting to do something just for the hell of it, but i feel like you'll get better results for far less money by building what you already have.

Thanks for the responses as for the using the mustang 4.6 parts after reading and reading most of what I have found with that is due to my motor not only being in a completely different position nobody has been able to confirm if they match up. One of the few thing I could find was that the headers will not work. Its worth a shot would really want like tryout parts before I invest.

Mated to the 60R With any 11-13 2wd computer. Engine tranny mounts, and new interior shifter console. A wiring harness. I personally would get either the high compression version which is like 550hp or the low compression built for a blower and get 850 out of it. Either way you are looking at 10 grand, on the plus side a warranty.

P.S. If you do go this route remember you can put the motor and tranny together before u put it in the truck. Also you can pull your old motor and tranny as one unit and have a great space to put your new mounts and harness in very easily. IMO you can also do this with a current 5.0 low mileage (which I like) for a lot less.

Have you looked into the Aluminator 5.0 engines? I think ocasio0727 is running one in his truck. He also has a tvs blower I believe. If you are wanting to upgrade I would say find a 2011 wrecked truck and use all the parts save the motor out of it. With the RCSB like you have, it would be a tire eating monster and definately be twice what you have with a lot more upgrade options if you chose to go that route.
I'm still diggin the roll bar you fabbed/saved in the back of your truck.

Given how close the 4.6/5.4 motor mounts are in design to the GM LS series the only logical thing to do is put a LS3 pull out in it with a 4L80E behind it.
its win/win. You get your pushrods back, you get bottom end torque and on Saturday mornings it gives you something to do, like scrub the newly discovered oil leaks off the driveway....
find a similar year 5.4 truck as mentioned above and swap everything over. 5.4 to 4.6 swap is nearly identical. I would personally be looking into doing a Lincoln 4v swap 5.4 over a 3 valve.
