Have a 2010 F150 SCREW with 4.6 3v engine. Between about 1200 and 1800 RPM's when easily accelerating from a stop or moving slow the engine makes a knocking sound, almost like it is a diesel (it is gas engine).

I have seen this mentioned here before but I don't recall anyone saying that the dealer can fix this problem.

Is it common with this engine and is it a pretty easy fix for the dealer? Will the dealer recognize and understand what I am talking about when I bring it in?

If you are still under warranty...I would take it in to the dealer.

theres a tsb for this for bad right side vct phaser and ive also seen bad rollers causing damage to the cam
