Default 2014 F150 abs module is bad

I'm new to the forum so if this has been covered please forgive me. I have a 2014 f150 XLT crew cab with a 5.0L. My abs brake and traction light came on and stays on. I have no communication with my scanner so I removed the abs module and sent it out for repair. I was told the microprocessor was shot with no option for repair. If I replace it with a used part must the numbers match? Also I understand it will need to be programmed through forscan. Thank you for any help.

You can use a used module from a 2011-2014 naturally aspirated truck (turbo trucks use a vacuum pump which will through a code). Once you install it you will need to program it with your AS BUILT data from your truck. Forscan is a great program for doing this.

My module failed a while back and I have tried modules from MY2010, 2011, 2012 and 2014. The 2010 worked on my 2012 but I got a Hill Descent fault and offroad display was working. My belief is because EPAS didn't come around until 2011, older ABS modules don't know how to talk to it, hence the errors.

The 2012 unit I tried was from an EcoBoost truck and I kept getting a braking system warning and light as it was looking for the vacuum pump to operate (I have a 5.0 and don't have a vac pump).
