So I just ordered a new Edge Insight CTS from Stage 3 Motorsports (Good guys). I was wanting to monitor some key parameters in real-time verses having to datalog to review later on my PC.
I decided on this unit since it was touchscreen and with window mount I can remove when taking to the dealer so they don't question if truck is tuned or not.
Essentially this is just a color gauge monitor for my truck.
My truck is a 2013 FX4 Eco with only a replacement air filter (AEM) and Full Race exhaust. Everything else is stock...well besides the 5* tune.

I am running 5* Tunes via an SCT tuner and happy with how the truck performs.
I want to keep my eye on certain values in order to make sure the tune stays in the "safety" zone.

So my question is this.
With an Edge Insight CTS I have the choice of 3 large analog type gauges and 2 smaller digital only gauges that will fit on the screen at one time.
What is everyones suggestions as to the most critical PID's to monitor?
I think boost PSI and Engine Coolant Temps are important but from a safety standpoint what else needs close monitoring?

The two smaller digital gauges will likely be battery voltage and intake air temp but maybe there is others my critical.

Now with this unit I can set alerts for when one of my chosen PID values exceeds a user determined limit.
So for my boost PSI gauge perhaps a boost over 20 psi??? For Engine Coolant temps what is upper normal (225f???) verses what is a concern and should be an alert value, say like 230f is danger zone.
The Trans-temp is not as important on the monitor since I can view that in my trucks DIC screen. But perhaps monitoring that on the Edge would be good since I could set an alert limit.

Thanks in advance for any input or advice as to what you guys would closely monitor if running any tune regardless from which tuner or device?

On my eco I always watch air inlet temp. Its actually pretty impressive to see. Usualy it is exactly what the outside temp is. I know a lot of trucks run hotter because of engine temp. Ford seems to have a good intake system.

Good idea, I'll make that one of the 3 large ones.
Do you think boost and ect would be good for others?

I would do boost, ECT, and maybe trans temp if you tow.

My truck isn't tuned but im running a edge cs and using the analog gauges i watch my coolant temp on on of the big ones and vac\boost on the other i only have one small one and i have it set on mph its funny to see how off the speedo is on a stock truck at times. as far as boost i have never seen more then 14psi then again im stock and coolant temp i have never seen for the 215 and that was only when i was playing in deep snow and really working it.

You should be able to view 8 gauges at once they just will be digital and not analog\digital

My coolant temp max's I mentioned were only guesses, I have not really pushed it or seen it very high but up until the tune I never looked. I'm in Texas so I imagine it will see higher than 215 but not sure what is "normal" for summer time working loads.

I do tow but only a couple of jet skis, total weight probably 3K lbs so not much.
I'll play with a few PID's to watch and see which ones move around a lot like trans temp and use that for my 3rd analog. Boost and ECT seem like givens to me as well so I know those will be two for sure.

I was thinking spark advance or knock but can imagine those change a lot and honestly wouldn't know what to look for as far as being good or bad.
