Ecoboost Window Sticker
So I am new here, but found this and thought it had to be shared with other F-150 enthusiast. I am looking to buy a new truck this year and was looking over my local dealers inventory. This one caught my eye pretty quickly since this info hasnt been release as far as I know on Ford.com
Upcharge for the Ecoboost - $750.
Fuel Mileage for the 4x4 - not nearly as impressive as I had hoped!
This sticker is in contradiction to the one posted on the other site in metric...

Hope the link works.

Retired and loving it!
Very interesting post! I thought the city MPG in particular would be higher than that. The highway is still 3 MPG better than the 5.4L........and I remain VERY curious to see what the MPG on this EB engine is going to be when towing its max 11,300 pound load.

Wow. That's not much better than my 5.4 4x4. I guess we were all looking at the 2WD fuel economy figures for the EB. It would take s long long time to get your money back trading a 5.4 for the EB based on fuel savings. Like a decade.

It seems that the new EPA ratings are much more conservative and can be easily "beat". My current vehicle (2005 Acura TL) was originally rated at 29mpg hwy, which I consistently match in real world conditions. Converted to the new EPA ratings, it is rated at 26mpg hwy, which I can easily surpass even when driving 80mph+ (not that i do).
What I'm getting at is, even though the window sticker says 21mpg hwy, I would not be surprised to see people hitting 23 or 24mpg in real world conditions.

I know the Tow Ratings are changing so everyone is under the same guidelines, so one looking could actually compare the different trucks. But I was not aware the EPA rating were changing as well. Good Info GGallant1.

They changed for the 2008 model year. So they've been in effect for a few years now, but are much different from previous ratings where you just prayed that you could match what the sticker said
