Default Transmission 'eek' noise on kickdown

I searched and haven't found anyone describing this exact same problem:

Occasionally (intermittently) when the transmission does a kick down -i.e. I put my foot down and it drops a few gears for heavy acceleration- I hear a screeching/whining sound. It's pretty loud.
It mostly happens at highway speeds.

Has anyone had this issue?

I have a 2013 ecoboost FX4...

Have you had your local dealer take a look at this, greg150? They'll best be able to diagnose this. Feel free to use this to get an appointment scheduled, if you have already.

Also, what's the current mileage on your truck? I'll look into this further.

I'll get this into the hands of your regional customer service manager, greg150; they'll be able to provide further assistance. All you'll have to do is get an appointment scheduled with your servicing dealership. Then, send over a private message with your full name, VIN, dealer, and best daytime contact number. I'll get the ball rolling!

Brittany, i just learned that the transmission itself has warranty until 60k so that's a relief. Went to my dealer to schedule as you suggested but they can only touch the issue if I can reproduce it. It's too intermittent to be able do that.
So basically I have 15k miles left to see if it gets worse (and I can show them).
I will contact you in the distant future if that's the case. Thanks for your help so far!

I've got the same problem (intermittent) and I've got less than 9k on mine. A 2013 I've only had for about a year. Took it to the dealer for 5k service and told the service and told the service writer about the problem. Even though there's a fix for the problem, they won't touch it unless they can re-create it. To me, not very good service on a $55k truck.

Its embarrassing when it happens when other people are riding with me in my "new truck."
