No that's not the sound. That is constant the vac pump is only on like 20-30 seconds.

sounds like a bearing might be going in an idler pulley or something. Might want to grease your pulley bearings and see if it stops.

I was backing out of my driveway this morning to go buy me a new 2015 Mustang GT when I noticed something wasn't right. The noise really got to me, so I did some searching and I 100% have a bad vacuum pump. Needless to say, I'm getting this dealt with before I even consider the Mustang. This known, unaddressed issue affecting my children's safety is inexcusable.

I completely understand where you're coming from, Adawg888; what's the model year and current mileage on your truck? Please let me know; I'll use this information to research available options.

Is it possible for them to be going and not have the issue all the time? I don't have the typical noise but brakes failed backing up today

I definitely suggest having your dealer take a look at your truck if this happened, Burnie329; they'll be able to diagnose if necessary, and advise the best next steps. Please let me know how it goes!

I know how you feel. I would be driving a 2015 F150 or a 2014/2015 F250 right now if it wasn't for this stupid pump, and more importantly how Ford has handled it. Looking to stop by a Chevy dealership just to look as I don't like the Rams. Its too bad between this pump and the rest of the truck the 2011 has not aged well at all for a highway truck. Now I get the Eco stutters and inconsistent power, feels like the plugs are bad or gapped to high but the dealr wants a tn of money to redo plugs and Im not sure he would even gap them right.

A monkey could gap plugs for you. You need a ratchet and an extension and a plug socket. They are easy to do I think my wife could do it. So many vids on YouTube show how to do it.
