Videos work now.... Sounds like a leaky exhaust manifold. Maybe you should check your spark plugs incase you have the same issue BlueFlameMetallicFX4 had.

Take a listen to the sound clips in my signature. I recorded mine with a Iphone resting on top of the radiator. Note is a bit different, but the sounds are similar in duration. The tick could be the cam phaser, but I'm honestly guessing. Certainly could be a stray spark snap. I did have one plug form a carbon arc at 15k. Sometimes you can see these in the dark. Any codes, strange "huffing" sounds or low power?

NASSTY- its not like a air sound though. Its hard to tell from the video because its always had the injector tick but there is a different knock now.. ill check the plugs also.

Cord- The startup sound you have is the same as mine, but I figured that's what it was. Now the knock I have no clue. Everything is running just like normal, no codes, no strange sounds and no loss in power that I have noticed. Ill try to take a better vid when I get off this evening with better sound if I can.

That sounds very much like an exhaust manifold leak. But I'm not familiar with all the turbo tubing and valve train. You could take a 3' piece of hose and listen thru the wheel wells. Just move the hose around the different engine parts while staying away from moving parts

The noise in my vid is the timing chain slop until the oil pressure builds and the adjuster takes up the slack. However, by the time you get the noise, there should be other symptoms as well.

What other symptoms?

This is what the engine sounds like when it's in limp mode:
When it's in limp, the truck feels lethargic.

Sounds like a timing chain rattle on start up...definitely a mechanical tick on idle. The sound is familiar to me because I unfortunately owned a 2010 Chevy Equinox with a 2.4 DI engine (read about it if you want more details). Anyhow, my Equiturd did the same thing on start up. The chains (defective) were stretched so much that the actuators had to expand a whole bunch just to relieve the slack in the chains. The chains would rub on the case cover until enough oil pressure built up in the actuators / chain guides. With my timing all screwed up, the carbon build up on the valves/compression chamber caused a nasty tick during idle. I'm not saying that this is the case for you but it all sounds familiar to me. Bad timing chains do a whole lot of unseen damage.

BlueFlame- dang I never realized the timing chain would have to do with all that.. but since im having the timing chain noise on start up it wouldnt surprise me
