Update: the ticking noise wasn't the high pressure fuel pump. So they are gonna continue tearing it apart until they find it.

My error.....reading to many threads!!!! I am at a loss then what it could be other than the valve followers. Looks like they covered all. Oil pressure holds good when warm?

Haha it's all good! And yeah...I'm pretty sure everything was fine. No codes or anything unusual

I am in the same situation, Boosted F150. I just picked my 2011 EcoBoost up last evening from the dealership after they have had it for 11 days. It had the exact, and I mean EXACT same sound as yours in the the video's, I have heard the noise on cold starts for along time while it was in warranty expressing I believed there was a problem. Well they did not see fit to do anything , so right before the warranty went out I took it in and made sure they documented that I had a concern, they did a full inspection and I took it home and drove it for another 5500 miles and the sound got worse at start up. So I took it in after a little resistance they have stood behind it because I have had it documented by them that I saw a problem, They replaced the Timing chain, tensioners and front main seal at no cost which I complement them on.

However when I picked it up last evening, on a cold start... same sounds, This morning was worse as it was colder as it had sit longer from when they just pulled it out of the shop and test drove. And now the first time accelerating past 70 to pass it started cutting out on me brief loss of power like a misfire. This morning they told me they have had problems with plugs cracking etc like has been mentioned here on the forum, So I hear you, I am in the same situation, they don't know what to do on the noise since all the Timing chain repairs were done, by the way it was really stretched by 1/2 inch I believe they said. They have basically said since it is now out of Warranty and they have fixed what Ford has allowed them to do there done with warranty repairs

Update on the truck. They called an engineer from ford and i got a call from the service manager and he said that the ticking is from a cracked piston skirt... How in the word do you crack a piston skirt? He said it all came out in one piece and was sitting in the pan. Have a new piston on the way

I'd be surprised the bore wouldn't be scored. Often it's a symptom of excessive side loads. Ie siezed rod bearing. Usually when a skirt breaks the piston jambs in sideways and then the rod parts shortly there after. Had it happen once and there wasn't much left of the engine.
