I prefer performance over noise. Performance gets you the first place trophy and a date with the prom queen. Noise gets you.... well it gets you your own satisfaction of listening to it and other guys that may like noise. I am not about satisfying other guys and am all for taking home the prom queen. So yeah, I would be pissed if I had paid for a 2010 GT and not only have the following years V6 almost match it's performance, I would also have gotten a lot more power for the same amount of money if I would waited to buy the 2011 GT.

If the manuals does say that (I've never read that, in any manual) it is dead wrong. -please give a reference to higher elevations/octane thought here.
That's because the higher the elevation the LESS octane an internal combustion engine needs. The lower the octane, the higher the BTUs that are produced from combustion.
FYI
