Mustang got a bump to 420 in 2013. he is correct that the 2011-12 make 412 on premium fuel. They automatically change the tune based on fuel.... Well knock... but fuel.

Yes, my bad. The 2013 was bumped up to 420 from the factory. But never have they been advertised nor tested at 400.

This thread has turned into a Mustang thread. Lets get back to the Ecoboost which is what I traded my 2011 5.0 Mustang in for. Mine has the 3.73 rear and Ive ran 93 in it since I ran out the dealer's 87 fill. I can honestly say that it amazes me with how hard it pulls. My daughter is a gear head and she just yells "this thing is weird! A truck isn't supposed to run like this!" haha!!

The output of 412 horsepower at 6500 rpm and 390 pound-feet of torque at 4250 rpm (that’s with premium fuel; regular unleaded drops the figures to 402 horses and 377 pound-feet)

I would have been so pissed if I were a 2010 Mustang GT owner and then the following year the V6 Mustang has only 10 horsepower less than my V8 GT and does the 1/4 miles in less then half a second apart.

My thoughts too for the 2010 owners of trucks and cars. Quite a leap from the previous years performance numbers.

Why would you be pissed? You would still have the V8 sound...lol.

Current 5.0 guys dont seem pissed that there trucks are slower than the v6 ecoboost, and make less power... They have the V8 sound...

You are getting confused by the automatic Camaro SS which has 400 HP compared to the manual SS with 426.
Dude.....do some research...Ford has been working on these computers with advanced timing tables for higher octane gas....the 08 bullet was the first. But thats ok...you beleive whatever you want...dont have to listen to some dude over the interwebs
They advertise this number(412) with premium fuel.
The truck 6.2 is advertised at 411 with premium fuel also.
How come ford advertised with premium ratings? How come not both ratings?(87)

That is one of the benefits of direct injection!
I always ran premium in my 2.2L turbo, back in the day. The ECU wasn't terribly sophisticated though.
My EcoBoost does just fine on 87 octane.

Why would one run 87 in a 5.0 Mustang? I know that I purchased mine with the intentions of using all 412 HP and running 93. Of course they should market a high performance car with its highest possible output and not waste time mentioning the lower rating.

Quick Reply: Ecoboost has 385hp/430lb-ft with premium fuel.
