I wonder how many tanks of premium you need to go through before the effects could be measured. Keeping in mind dilution with what is already in your tank, and the amount of time it takes for the ECM to adjust fully to any changes to air to fuel ratios(higher octane means more oxygen for improved boom!).

I know it did with E85 vs regular fuel. The 5.4L power numbers with regular fuel was 310hp/365lb-ft and then 320hp/390lb-ft with E85.

dare i say it sounds like the turbos are louder when i use 93 compared to 89...

ahhh definitely running this tank dry and trying premium cool thats awesome news enplanes why the tuner companies are able to show such a big jump with the premium fuel tunes off the stock hp values because the stock values are with reg fuel so really premium tunes should be compared to premium stock numbers

Yeah, I know.....me too....
Although I will say that I towed our 28 foot TT many thousands of miles last summer on regular fuel, and up to 7,000 feet altitude on some mountain passes, and it seemed to do fine...definitely am going to have to try 91 octane for towing this summer...maybe I CAN get better than 8.5 mpg!!!
