Ecoboost to 6.2L swap

Ecoboost to 6.2L swap
So I'm new to the group, and was curious. I blew my ecoboost engine yesterday. Not sure how. My wife pulled up to a stop sign, went to accelerate, and heard a loud pop then oil everywhere. I know engine failure is common in the first 2 years of ecoboosts. And I'd rather not have the issue again. What would I need to do a 6.2L V8 conversion? I can buy a 6.2L cheaper then an ecoboost. Would it be a bellhousing, wiring harness, ECU exhaust stuff, intake. What else? I have the 6r80 transmission. I also found a 2014 3.5L ecoboost, but I think It would be fun to build a Raptor clone. Thoughts?

The failure rate of the f150 ecoboost is still only around 1%
That being said I too had my engine replaced. I don't think I could deal with the slowness of the 6.2 after having a 3.5 ecoboost. Sure the spec numbers are higher but the torque curve of the ecoboost can't be beat. And tuned, well there's no comparison.
I think you'd be looking at some pretty good work in modifications to make it work though.

It would be a hell of a lot less headache to swap in a replacement 3.5TT than to try and swap in the 6.2......unless you're thinking about supercharging/turbocharging the 6.2 (they have kits for that). Lol. The 6.2 is a good engine, but I think it would be a long downtime for your truck. 3.5 for a 3.5 should just be a couple days at most.

Although I remain delighted with my 6.2L (yes, I did drink the coolaid of long-term reliability of larger NA V8 displacement vs 6 cylinders on steroids), no way I'd consider that swap...

How's she goin' eh?
What year is the truck? Is it out of warranty? Seems weird it would just die, something must have been a bigger problem. Was there any issues with the inter cooler and not having the drain hole drilled?

It's a 2011, out of warrenty, I didn't drill the hole in the intercooler cause I was told I live in an area it's not an issue. I had driven it on Saturday and it ran flawlessly. So I'm not sure what the issue was. It was maybe 200-300 miles over what the sticker said for an oil change but it was all highway miles. Synthetic oil, premium fuel. So I'm not sure

I found a 6.2L engine out of a 2011 super duty, but it's gonna be a while till I can do anything that's why I'm interested in the swap. Me and my wife really want a Raptor. But as far as the engine goes, it was bone stock except a CTS2 chip that was used for gas mileage. It was a highway truck. We took my wife's car anywhere else
