EcoBoost 3.5 or V8 5.0 (2011)
Hi there F-150 fans/owners,
i am the new guy F-150 owner to be.
Planning to buy a used 2011 F-150, so i need to make a great decision between the EcoBoost 3.5 vs 5.0 V8 they are both 2011 crewcab. It will be mostly for loading stuff, e.i. metals, rocks, woods, etc... (maybe towing but rare) and it will be most around a city. i dont care about gas which is obvious if you have a truck. It will be a long term and forever truck for me and mostly to have a PEACE of mind on it. Please i need some good advise which one to take.

Ecoboost will cost more used. So do you want to pay more for the extra power? Woyld you use the xtra power only driving around town without heavy towing or racing? Ecoboost will easy out hustle the v8 with a tune. But you may just not care....
So you need to decide if the cost/benefit is there do you.

I have an EB and would never choose the 5.0 for anything over the EB.
102k on my 2011 FX4 and still running strong. I use it weekly to haul lawn gear.
No big stuff yet other than hauling 1,000lb of scrap metal to the recycler a few times.
Currently get 22mpg cmix city/highway and more power over the 5.0...I don't even understand the comparison!

Sounds like you aren't planning to tow much so the 5.0 would be a good choice.
