Ecoboost - 1st tow
Well my truck hit 1006 miles, passed break in so time to use it for the whole reason I bought it - TO TOW. I towed my boat to my sister's house using my brother-in-law F250 King Ranch Powerstroke (PSD) since I wasn't past break-in yet. So, I have comparison towing from the F250 within the last few days, my old 2001 F150 5.4l last season and the new ecoboost. I only towed the boat across town back to storage, about 30 miles. I did not drive the PSD real hard though because it was not my truck and I do not believe in using something hard that someone graciously loans to you, so take that comparison for what it is worth. THE ECO-BOOST BLEW THEM ALL OUT OF THE WATER. The truck pulled real good using tow/haul button up over a very tall ship channel bridge-maintained 55mph the entire way up the bridge (would've and could've gone faster but speed limit was only 50), then coasted down other side and engine brake or whatever hit is kept truck and reasonable speed down the other side. I was able to maintain 75 mph no problem. I just did to see if I could, I do not plan on towing that fast regularly. The instant MPG was about 14-15 mpg while in the flats.

Thanks all for the kind words...
The boat (with trailer and full of fuel) weighs about 5000 lbs.
I did get the 3.73 gears with the max trailer tow package.
The mudflaps are detachable, there is welded square box that slips over the receiver before it goes into the truck. These were homemade by a dear friend who was tragically killed last year, so they are not the "rock tamer", may look a little redneckish, but they do have significant sentimental value to me.
As soon as I get the cash from my old truck, I plan on a 2" lift and bigger tires which will change the gear ration slightly but still doing my research on tire sizes.
Stay tuned for that post.
