EB Engine Oil Smells Like Gas

EB Engine Oil Smells Like Gas
I just did the first oil change I've ever done on my sig truck since I got it in July, at 38k today. Not used to oil being so thin! I probably could have waited another 1.5k... However, I noticed my oil smelled quite a bit like gas. After texting a friend, and doing a quick google search, it became obvious that it's something you DON'T want.
Am I just being paranoid? The truck has been running fine since I got it and had no issues what so ever, no CEL's, no nuthin' besides making me a happy EB owner. I suppose the smell isn't EXACTLY like gas, but its close enough that it smelled like gas to me almost immediately. Didn't think anything of it at the time so the oil is already gone. I did however pull my empty filter out of the dumpster and it smelled gas'ish.
Is this something unique to EB's or 5W-30 oil I'm not accustomed to?
Any input fellas?

Unfortunatly, this is normal in all D.I. engines....

Apparently you have never read about the fuel in oil issues with the ecoboost?
Was your oil overfull?

The smell is a little bit stronger than I'm imagining the smell might be like due to what you're mentioning. It's a pretty strong odor.
Only finding out about this now...I didn't measure the amount of oil that came out, just caught it. Checking the level with my dipstick isn't working very well either because my readings are sucky. The dipstick obviously hits the sides of things inside the engine that are bathed in oil...or after filling with approximately 5.2-5.6qts of oil it's well above the fill markers...

It can also be caused by a faulty HPFP

A faulty HPFP can certainly cause this condition, and it would be very noticeable if it was the HPFP. Unfortunately, it is also a very common condition with direct injection. I installed a catch can and it cured my gas in oil condition. The stuff the can catches reaks of gas, but pull the dipstick and there is no hint of fuel smell whatsoever.
I also installed one on my LLT V6 Camaro which is direct injection. It solved the same fuel in oil issue I had with the EB. I also have one on my '05 GTO LS2 which is port injection. I did not have the fuel in oil issue with it, but the LS2 is known for dumping quite a bit of oil back into the intake. The can does a good job of catching the oil, but it does not have the gas smell like what is caught on the two DI engines nor is of the same makeup (it is pure oil).
I know there are as many naysayers as advocates on the benefit of catch cans, and I'm not trying to start another catch can debate. But, it definitely helped reduce/eliminate the fuel in oil issue I was having on both DI engines.

I guess I would have expected my truck to have thrown a CEL considering how much my oil smelled of fuel...
I'm still under powertrain...

No CEL.
HPFP is High pressure fuel pump.
Take your truck into the dealership and have them look at it.
