Default Dumb question - Coyote

Good morning folks (at least it is here in VA).

I see a lotta people talking about the Coyote engine. My dumb question is - how do you know if your truck has that engine? My 2011 STX has the 5.0L but does that necessarily mean it's a Coyote?

Please respond. . . after you're done laughing

Its just fords nickname for this generation of 5.0. Separating it from the earlier generation of 5.0s in the 90's. Anyone who has a newer Mustang or F-150 with the 5.0 can say they have the "coyote".

Heres some info on it.

PhilMac ... Separating it from the earlier generation of 5.0s in the 90's. ...
The Windsor 5.0L (a.k.a. the 302) pre-dates the "90's" and dates-back to 1968. The "5.0" connotation came into being in 1982.

It's a difference of Windsor versus modular.
