DRL moved to marker lights (for canadian members)
#12
Hmmmm ... I dunno if the sidemarkers would satisfy the DRL Po-Po . That's a #194-class bulb - not very bright and not exactly forward-facing.
I'd much rather use the fogs as DRL's - IMHO, the best alternative of them all. No issues with them not being bright enough or being seen - especially with aftermarket bulbs in there ( either halogens or Leds ).
To do that using a standard ISO relay, run a set of normally-closed contacts, with one side to a "power-in-Run" feed ( suitably fused - 1 amp will do ), the other side to the fog lamp relay coil access point in the SJB. ISO relay Coil itself will be powered by a sidemarker feed ( again, suitably fused @ 1 amp).
This will turn on the fogs whenever the truck is running - voila - Fog DRL's. Once you either turn on the heads, parking lights (sidemarkers), either manually or via autolights, the fogs will turn off. Fog light switch will remain functional.

just remembered this thread https://www.f150forum.com/f38/daytim...ircuit-219692/ worth a read
Interesting.
If you wanted to do it (Led strip DRL only) in a simpler fashion, you can just modify the abovementioned ISO relay approach - instead of running the normally-closed contacts to the SJB, use the normally-closed contacts to power the Led strips directly from a "Power-in-Run" feed, suitably fused to handle the strip's current. Bypassing functions can be done with additional switch/relay, if desired.
Thanks for the link!

For sure, just seemed most dealers won't turn off the drl feature in Canada. I got lucky with a friend who, owns a ford diesel garage, letting me borrow his laptop

And kudos to the feller who posted that work in the link you provided.
We need more Rnlcomp s in this neck o' the woods

FLAWLESS VICTORY!
On another note, im not understanding why you would disable the DRLs in order to acomplish this. Wouldnt you need to have it activated, regardless of what location you want the lights to come from?
