Driveshaft clunk? There's a fix for that.

WHAT?.. a "one piece driveshaft" by definition would be ONE PIECE! NO SLIP YOKE!.. I had a one piece on my '01 V6 reg/cab.. never had a clunk.. My reg/cab 2011 started clunking when I let off the brake, at about 8k miles.. Dealer lubed it, hasn't done it since.. No way a regular cab Short wheel base truck should have a two piece driveshaft.

uh.. NOT.. I've been turning wrenches for 40 years.. I've never seen a carrier bearing on a one piece driveshaft. It's called a "one piece" driveshaft for a reason.. I guess if you count the two pieces that connect to the U-joints then you'd have a "THREE" piece drive shaft, or a "FOUR" piece driveshaft.. a SLIP YOKE, is in the middle of the driveshaft.. NOT inside the tranny.. hence the need for the carrier bearing. the DRIVESHAFT, is that part BETWEEN the U-joints. it's either ONE piece, or TWO piece with a slip yoke and a carrier bearing. I wasn't trying to be a dick, but I've been twisting nuts and bolts for longer than alot of guys on this site have been alive. I think I know what a slip yoke is.
