Default 2 piece drive shaft slip-bump or clunking

I've had a very difficult time with one particular dealership actually fixing my 2013. Two years in the making with this issue. But keep in mind, I did not know the truck has a two piece drive shaft when I bought it used. Howver to cut to the chase. Yes Ford has a lot (part number: 9L3Z-4W602-A). Which consists of nothing more than lubricant, a rubber boot and clamps for the boot for the spline. And here's the kicker. They installed it on my truck. But never told me. I'm so done with this place and thier dishonestly. Its a case study in not how to conduct customer service.

Basically, they just R&R'd the driveshaft, re-lubed the slip yoke, and test drove it to confirm the problem no longer existed.

My truck now actually feels much better when accelerating from a dead stop, and there's no more clunk. Just thought I'd share this in case anyone else was experiencing it.

I had the simple tsb done and now the slight clunk from take off is back. Going to take it back and see if I can get something else done, maybe a new shaft?

I am having the same issue with my truck. I have the single shaft and had it lubed last week and there's no change. The clunking has been going on for months and the first repair involved the mechatronic unit (not sure exactly what was done but it was covered by the warranty). I am sick of it, thinking of trading it in for Tundra.

Trading trucks because of a common noise that's present in almost all makes? Crazy. My 2000 Silverado did this all the time. I'd usually pull the shaft and grease it about once a month. It's hardly a reason to switch brands.

You think having to pull the shaft and grease it every month is NOT a reason to switch trucks? lol.

I don't know that it's trade worthy if you haven't tried just replacing the driveshaft. Though it is VERY annoying. I kept looking behind me thinking someone rear ended me.

I guess they need to start making these trucks 100% maintenance free for those that don't like a little dirt under their manicured nails.

It's got nothing to do with trucks, it has got to do with how well a driveshaft is made/engineered. There's a reason why the replacement shafts for the 2 pc shafts have a different metal.

I couldnt imagine thinking having to performance mechanical maintenance on your driveshaft every month is just part of truck ownership, what planet are you from?
