Yep, i have had this similar problem as well. I am 5'11" 250lbs and my left leg also get numb, and it get very uncomfortable. Specially when i do long trips. I have to stop at times because it hurts so bad just to give it a rest.

Right from the get go i thought the seats were a bit hard, and felt it rather awkward. Now i feel your pain and am in the same boat. But there is nothing i, or you can do about it. It's there, and the only other thing i can think of doing is putting a pillow or something on it. Removing wallet helps, but does not eliminate the problem entirely.

Here is another option for those of you with problems. Go to Wal-mart to the pillow section. They sell a memory foam pillow for $10. It is way too hard to actually use as a pillow, but it is perfect for a cushion. You can cut it down to size if you want. Of course it sucks to have to sit on a pillow in your $30k-$50k truck, but since you already bought the truck.....The memory foam does help quite a bit and only cost $10.

Thanks for this tip. For 10 bucks and a little bit of comfort, you can't beat it. Even if it don't work it's worth a try.

So I am a smaller unit in this group 6 210. The single biggest thing for me is as metioned the wallet. I take it out upon entering if I am going for a long drive. This helps me more than anything. But all this fuss over seats makes me feel wanting comfort I am not the only one. Lazy boy makes a compfy chair, comfy enough I can sleep with my granddaughter on my chest for hours.. So I am going to reverse engineer this, what makes a lazy boy recliner so superior to these seats in the trucks. I am looking for input as to soft? pliability? material? etc... Anything any of you can think of that stands out as one has something the other does not... Thanks

As a side note but directly related to this thread, I've noticed quite a few of you mentioning removing your wallet from your back pocket.

I also use to carry my wallet in my back pocket until one day, while evidently exiting or getting into my car, it fell out. Needless to say I had to cancel all credit cards and submit all kinds of paper work to get licenses and other forms of ID back again. From that day forward, I now carry my wallet in my front left pocket. It felt a bit strange for the first week, but I quickly got use to the idea. And of course, it made sitting in 'any' vehicle much more comfortable. Again, just my experience and opinion.

I guess from my experience, it is difficult for me to understand some of the [most] negative comments/observations here?

I am 6'-4 and 250 lbs. and I have found this vehicle to be the most comfortable in all aspects, of any vehicle I have owned since my first new vehicle in 1970; with many cars, trucks, and SUV's since.

I take frequent trips from the north state down to L.A. to visit my son and other family members and am amazed at how comfortable this ride is....and I do not even have the top of the line truck; it is the XLT with 40/20/40 cloth seats.

In contrast, just last week, I loaned my truck to my brother who needed it for a few days for a project. He provided me his 2011 Nissan Altima sedan to use.

In that regard, if you want to talk about feeling total discomfort, not only entering and departing the vehicle, but even for short trips within town; this Nissan has the most uncomfortable seat I could ever imagine in a modern vehicle. Not only that, the ride was absolutely terrible! It is like you can feel every defect or imperfection in the roadway surface, which is telegraphed right up through both the seat and the steering wheel.

I am so damn happy to have my F-150 back again!

I can't really believe how long this thread has gone on. If your seats are uncomfortable trade your truck in or pay to get custom seats. Or sit on a pillow. My truck is very comfortable I'm my opinion. If your a bigger person or out of shape I could see the problem. Again this is just my opinion.

Tell me, what does this pain feel like? A dull ache? Feel like you have to move your foot or leg for some reason? Or is it a burning needle running down the back of your calf? Personally, several years ago I herniated my L5-S1 disk. After 2 years of mis-diagnosis and failed conservative treatment I went in for surgery. I was great for 6 months and then the pain came back. I had now developed scar tissue. Unfortunately, I'm not a surgical candidate. Now I get to live with the pain for the rest of my life. I turn 40 next year. Yea. Anyways, I just received my truck and have found the seats to be fairly comfortable. It's a matter of adjusting the seat position and lumbar support. Now other people will hate the position, but it's a matter of getting the thing adjusted so it's properly supporting you.

At any-rate, lots of people rebuild seats to suit. Much denser foam covered by softer foam for comfort and such.
Same here !

Lumbar support and pedicle rods/plates/screws do not mix well.

I have only been in a raptor for a few minutes at a time but those are the most comfortable seats ive ever felt in a vehicle. much better than my 06 even though those are also pretty comfy.
