Damn, I didn't know I was alone. 6'2 200

These seats suck. My 02 Chevy 1500 was supremely comfortable. Never had a complaint. 10 hour drives in this pickup suck. No wallet in the back pocket helped A TON, but the seat still isn't that great. Lower back kills me in this thing.

The non-power seats in theses trucks kill my back too. I had an XLT with non-power seats and I could only drive for about 1 hour before I'd have to stop and stretch my back. I traded that truck for a 2011 FX4 with power seats and my back has been fine ever since. Just being able to raise and or tilt the base of the seat made all the difference for me. I can drive for several hours now and my back doesn't bother me. My 2014 has power seats too, I couldn't go back to manual seats.

Finally fixed my seat in my 2014! I added some 2" thick foam underneath the seat foam, on top of the springs. I also added some foam in front of the lumbar mechanism. SO MUCH BETTER!!

I thought they were fine stock then I added neoprene (wet okole) covers which feel like they have memory foam even though its just regular foam and now I feel like I could drive 1000 miles straight with no discomfort at all. No idea what you guys are talking about.

I have the same issue with my '13 F-150 FX4 Crew Cab, it keeps collapsing after a day or two. It has been in and out 8 different times to the shop. All they keep doing is re-padding the cushion or replacing the seat cushion. I've had to get Ford Customer Care involved to get this problem resolved. The last repair was just done yesterday, and still the same thing. The Regional Manager assured me that this was going to be fixed this time around. I'm wondering if I keep getting jerked around because the truck is under warranty

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I'm 5'8" and 165 and I too find that on long trips these seats are not that comfortable. The seats in my wife's 2001 Suburban are far more comfortable.

Addison,
How is this modification working out for you? I am planning to do same to my 2005 F150 XL to prevent "butt sink" where the springs are and to improve the lumbar support. Seems like it might be a relatively simple and effective mod. I'm also considering placing some sort of acrylic or plywood between springs and foam if there is still too much sink. Need to do something to correct the pelvic tilt and I think this mod would to it. Let me know if you still like the mod you did.

No, this seat still sucks. I've tried everything I can think of and nothing can be done with this crappy seat frame. I sat in a newer Super Duty and the seat was very comfortable. I think I'm gonna upgrade soon. I need a service body anyways, and an F150 wouldn't be able to handle one. But honestly, I just gotta get out of this seat. Lol

Agree on both; for short trips the seat is all the way down; on a long one, the seat gets raised a bit. I also change the angle while driving, a long trip, as well as making sure my hips are centered in the seat.

On the couple occasions where the seat was uncomfortable, I noticed I was a little off center, sitting crooked, or both. Once I got centered, and straight in the seat, all was well.

I'm 6'4" and around 265.

Sometimes there just needs to be a change..I answered this early in the thread and didn't see your later posts. Sounds like a new seat, more stuffing, etc is in your future. I didn't see - have you tried a seat cover, like sheepskin or something, to distribute the weight and add some cushion?

When I hear "neoprene" I think the plasticky material from wetsuits, so wanted to ask:

They look very nice, but how are those covers in hot and sticky weather? Do they breathe at all?
