My ergonomic solutions .....
  • Replaced the front head rests with those from a 2008 Focus.

    .
  • 1980's Ford Motorsport dead pedal / foot rest.

Interesting solutions. I hear the 04-08 headrests fit 09+ since the InVision LCD headrests fit the newer F150's but are still based on the 04-08 headrests. The older headrests would certainly provide more "head room" to lean your head back further than an 09 and a 10+ (which were redesigned to provide a half-inch more "lean back" room than an 09).

Too bad Ford never made Sienna Brown 04-08 seats ...

For the OP, I'd make a trip to a chiropractor before ripping the seat apart. You could very well need an adjustment.

I find the seat's in my '11 a lot more comfortable then my '04. Also love the cool *** feeling after these hot day's at work from the cooled seat's! I'm also in the big boy club at 250+!

Ha, ha! it's not from having to much money in it either.

I think it would be difficult to build a seat that fits everyone's comfort level.

Hmmm, picked up a little in the kg. dept since those Infantry Scout days in Nam, huh?

Mee too, I weighed 165 when I got out of Navy boot camp in San Diego.

Default And I thought it was just me..........

Also having a problem with left leg pains! Have a 2011 Screw XLT and have had the exact same problems with pain in left leg..... wish i had the seats from my '97 XLT back! I've tried a foam interpad and a small block of wood for my left foot on the floor..... nothing seems to work and I'm even thinking about trading the truck! Bought it for some traveling but no way can I travel any distance in this setup! Whats the Solution???

PS: am also a "well endowed" guy... 6'2" and 310 # ...... have already moved the seats about every way they can go and no wallet in my back pocket !!

Try tilting the seat slightly forward (lowering the front edge), or raising the front edge. Re-adjust the seat back so your sitting angle is fairly straight and tall. The many adjustments on the newer seats makes it easy for them to get into a bad position without you knowing it, compared to the old models that didn't tilt.

Had this exact problem too... 2011 Platinum SCrew. The seat frame seems too narrow especially for bigger drivers (I am one of those too 6'6" 250#) and the foam doesn't provide enough support over that frame bar. I had my seat bottom cushion replaced by the dealer and the new piece seems better - for now. OP - What was your build date? Mine was 2-3-11. Maybe it was a bad run of cushions? I agree that they needed a dead pedal for the left foot to rest on. At my height, I actually moved the seat forward a little and it seems to be more comfortable.

I'm 6'2" and 250 lbs and I've found my F150 to be the most comfortable long distance driving vehicle I've ever owned. Keep playing with the seat adjustments because there is almost an infinite number of positions you can dial in.

That's good advice regarding the wallet in the back pocket. I stopped carrying mine in my back pocket a couple of years ago because I read it was bad for your posture when sitting. You're essentially sitting on a rock all the time. I noticed a big difference, especially at work where I sit in front of a computer all day.

I keep my wallet as light as possible and carry it in my front pocket now with my iPhone it the other.
