My truck gets the shakes when it's cold...
I have a 2011 STX SCab 5.0 4x4. It's been a cold, cold winter, and I have noticed when it's less than about 10 degrees out when I first start driving my truck will start shaking as I'm going along.
It kicks in at about 40 mph a couple of miles down the road, and gets worse the longer I drive.
When the shaking starts getting really bad (like I'm driving over repeated speed bumps) and audible chirping noise will start coming from under the truck in the transmission/front of driveshaft area. The chirping frequency is proportional to the speed of the truck.
If I pull over, and go into park, then reverse, and then back into park it sometimes clears it up and I can drive normally. Sometimes I have to repeat the procedure to get it to clear up.
At first I thought it might be due to me not letting the truck warm up long enough before I took off, but this morning I let it warm up for a good 15 minutes. The engine and transmission temp gauges were in their normal zone.
Also, my truck's transmission and driveshaft are pretty clunky most of the time -- hard shifts, and a thump when I let off the gas. It also has trouble figuring out what gear it should be in at speeds under 30mph. This shaking, though, generally starts at speeds faster than that.
I haven't taken it in yet, as it has to be very cold out before it happens, and it goes away eventually. It would be tough to time it right so the dealer could see what the problem is.
Anyone ever experience this sort of thing?

I get the vibration when cold, usually smooths out as the truck warms up. Most of my issue is with poorly balanced tires after the truck gets warm... Dealer is still being a pain in my butt after screwing up my old rims...

Sometimes tires will flat spot in very cold weather. When they warm up the flat spot works out.
Don't really know what to tell ya about OPs problem.
