I have a 2009 F150 FX4, about $16k miles on it and within the last couple of days, I have noticed that the driver side of truck is sitting a little lower than passenger side. I believe that it is just in the rear of the truck. I noticed this by standing a ways back behind truck and it is noticeable with naked eye. I decided to measure it with tape measure it its is 1+ inches lower on left(driver side) from flat ground to wheel well, from flat ground to bumper, etc, than the right side. Truck still seems to run normal.

Anyone experience this or know what may have caused this?

my drivers side is lower than the passenger side by half an inch, front and rear when measured at the wheel well. I noticed this weeks ago during the infamous 'offset rear axle" discussions. It also became a real PITA when i was installing my rear shackle lower kit. I took measurements before and after kit installation.. i couldnt believe my tape measure!! I thought i screwed up somewhere. Nope, was'nt me who screwed up. Another example of quality control?

Hmmm.. I predict alot of members will say things like "your being too picky", "its just a truck", "it doesnt effect the ride or safety" . Maybe some people dont mind a kitchen table that leans half an inch to one side but to me.. its without question sloppy work.

This has nothing to do with how much I or any passenger weighs. This issue is noticeable when no one is in the truck and just became noticeable in the last 5-6 days.

A persons weight would not cause this to happen, unless that person was 400 pounds.

I guess I will just take it in for the dealer to take look at.

My 2002 always sat a little lower on the passenger side when it was stock height. It wasn't enough to lose sleep over though. After I lowered it it sat even. For the record the 2006 I drive sits even.

The uneven stance could be from where it was strapped down during it's transportation. Maybe someone over tightened your truck, who knows.

I know the Chevys are known for the uneven stance. I helped a neighbor lower his 2004 1500 and even after we finished it still sat lower on the passenger side. He ended up having to cut almost a half a coil off the passenger side spring to even it up.

Could be a faulty spring on that side???

Now wait/ You said a person's weight would not cause this to happen unless that person was 400 pounds? Why is that?

I am just saying that a truck would not appear lower on one side than the other unless there was a lot of weight in the truck. I am guessing that 400+ pounds, whether it be a person or cargo.

Point is, my "unleveled truck" issue is not cause by a person's weight or cargo weight. I am simply wondering if anyone is familiar with this at all or if I should just take it into the dealer and have them take a look.

I offered a thought about this subject on another thread a while back.

Your gas tank is located toward the driver side of the vehicle. Gas weight approx. 6.25lbs per gallon. I personally have a 36 gallon tank = 225 lbs.

Just a thought and probably not enough weight to make an 1" difference
