I want to do a leveling on my truck 3” on front 2”rear, but after do a lot of reading regarding leveling or lifting my 2009 F150 2WD still confused because some users says that 3” will kill the suspension, so thats push me to think about doing 2.5” front 1.5” rear. But still looking in to the 3”front and 2” rear. So here is where I need the gurus to help me out. Important to said that Im not in Offroad, just want the agressive look of the truck and get rid of the factory look. 100% on road and highways and twice a month tow my 20” boat that weight 3220 lbs. Pleaseguys help me decided which one leveling/lift is better with my setup below.
3” front - 2 rear. Or. 2.5 front - 1.5 rear ?
Here is my setup 2009 F150 2WD. 20’ Chaparral Boat, its weight around 3201 lbs.
I went through something similar with my 2WD and here is what I found. BTW, my wheel specs and tire sizes are the same as yours.
1. 4WD sits 2" higher than 2WD. If you add a leveling kit to your 2WD, you are only going to be at factory 4WD height in front. The wheel fitment you have will not work well in that scenario. See point #2.
2. I have 4WD coilovers on mine that have effectively raised the front end 3.4" - 4". This overcomes that 2" difference in height from factory and adds a little more leveling as if it were a 4WD. It was required that I did that in order to clear that wheel and tire combination. Even after I did it, I still had to do a fair amount of trimming on both the front and back of each wheel well to get them to fit. I did a 2.5" block/spacer in the back and that leveled it all out just fine.
3. If you haven't bought the tires already, you may want to reconsider. I had them and hated them. There are lots of people here who have experienced the same. They are horrible for wet traction of any kind and there are much better tires for that price or cheaper.
