Driveline pop/clunk repair/mod
Ok. I had the infamous driveshaft pop/clunk..2wd..Eco..I had it on the lift..pulled the driveshaft..I was suprised, I thought the splines would be dry/rusted. Mine had small amount of grease on splines..I am not going to pull driveshaft every time it needs greasing..so one of the most important mods so far was to drill driveshaft and install zerk fitting..packed it with grease, clocked driveshaft, and shot grease into zerk..now I have plenty of grease on my slip yoke and can add it any time I need too...
I still dont care for the wussy soft trans/engine mounts, so I addressed that as well..I installed a limiter on the trans mount and it was a big difference..
The truck drives entirely different now..instead of it popping and trans shifting position..the truck sticks and flat jumps off the line..
You have seen the video of the go-pro underneath truck and driveshaft wobbling like crazy..mine doesnt do that now..Hope this helps..
