Hey guys,

The digital display on my 09 Lariat started cutting out, and recently gets dim, then sometimes does not come on at all. My question is, i found a 2009 F150 XLT model speedometer on ebay, the millage is almost exactly the same as mine, and the price is right, can i replace it with that one, and change the front of it, or does it have to come from another lariat? Thanks!

Its not just a plug and play swap. The speedometer cluster also serves as one of the many modules in your truck. Specifically it is home to the PATS security features. If you just do a direct swap, the truck will not start. I learned the hard way. You could use Forscan's PATS function and reprogram the cluster along with your keys. I went down this road a month or so ago and decided against it. The ebay cluster that I purchased is still laying on a bench in my garage. In the end, I sent my original cluster off and had it repaired. The lighting is all new LED, and you can change the color if you choose. I sent it off on a Monday, and it was back by Thursday of the same week. You pay for shipping to them, return shipping is included in the cost.
