Dome Light?!?
OK, I'm not a complete idiot, I know how to use light switches, but for some strange reason I can't get my dome light to turn on when my doors open.
So, for my first post on this board, I present you this. The light turns on just fine when you flip the switch over to the left, which is the "ON" postion, turns off (with doors shut) in the middle, and then is permanently off in the right position. When it's in the middle position, and the doors open, it's not turning on. (Yes, I have tried this with the switch in the "Off" position just to be sure)
Am I missing something? Have they created another step that I'm not seeing? Or is this just mechanical error?

Any thoughts?

Are any of the door plungers stuck. My expedition use to do this and the system would just turn it off (so the battery wouldn't die), like leaving a door open. Are you getting the little light that shows doors are open?

Yeah, when I have the truck started and open a door it tells me that the driver side door is open. When the truck is off there are no indicators.
Any thoughts or should I just take it to the Dealer for a quick fix?

It's your dash dimmer switch most likely. I can't remember which ways to turn it but turn it the other way and the lights will come back on when u open the door. I believe full left turns the dome lights off when u open the door when it clicks. Turn it the other way and give it a shot.

^^ They are correct. From page 74 of your owner's manual, see the last bullet:
• Rotate the thumbwheel from left to right to brighten the instrument panel.
• Rotate fully to the right (past detent) to turn on interior lamps.
• Rotate to the left position (past detent) to turn off the interior lamps
and to disable the illuminated entry feature. When the control is in the
far left position, it acts as a dome lamp defeat/override.
PANEL DIMMER CONTROL
Use to adjust the brightness of the instrument panel when exterior lights are on.
