Does your Bakflip bed cover leak like mine????

I went out to the garage, to check how close the sides of the panels are to the rail sides. At the rear, they is just under 3/16" gap on each side, and at the next hinge forward, about 1/8" gap on each side. So, shimming the rails further is not going to be a possible fix, or even an option...there's just not enough room.
Before folding the rear panel up for the photos, I noticed that the entire length of the hinge's underside had drops of water along it, and ready to drop into the bed. After opening the panel, the whole inside of the hinge is wet. This can't be right.
I do recall reading during my research, that the Fibermax has redesigned lower profile hinges that differ from previous models. Hmmmmm. Maybe these new hinges are the problem. They are apparently allowing water into the joints, and its dropping into the bed, and mostly then out the ends of the hinge pieces, and running out before it gets to the gutter. That would explain some water in the middle parts of the bed, and more water at the sides. A problem with the new hinge design would also explain why you guys with the other models aren't having these problems.
Here are some pics, that I took after it almost completely dried out in the garage for several hours. Most of the water was gone, but I highlighted in red where the water was found, in that pic of the whole bed.
Here you can see how close the panels meet the rails:
Here you can see how the rails are tilted a bit downward (highlighted in red), due to the shims being a little too thick at the top (but I don't think is a problem, necessarily):
Water found inside entire length the hinges (again, this is after it mostly dried, there was more water before):
Here is a representation in red, of where most of the water was found after the 15 minute rain:
After looking closer now, I have to think that there is a problem with this cover. Being such a new design, maybe I got to be the guinea pig. I will be contacting Bak Ind. on Monday to see what they say. I can't live with it leaking this much.
Thanks for the input so far guys, and any and all thoughts and ideas are welcome!

Could be part of the reason your getting so much water in the front and rear of the box. If those side rails fill up with water, that water has to go somewhere and without drain tubes you can guess where its going to go....into the box!

I looked at your photo's and noted that there are no drain tubes installed. Did your Bakflip come with drain tubes for the side rails? I have drain tubes on mine and installed them through the two plastic blanks in the front (cab side) of the box.

I've had a BAKflip on my 2009 SCREW for a little over 2 years now and I am not happy with it. The seal along the back tailgate area has almost completely come off and the seals on the rail at the fold points of the panel have also worn through. Consequently I have a large amount of water coming in. I could understand the rail seals failing after heavy use but I've only had it full open maybe 10 time since I bought it. I contacted BAK and yet said to remove entire system and mail it back to them for repair. I am waiting to get time and a dry day to do this. I am concerned if this is a regular issue as I don't want to have to disassemble and mail it back every couple years.

Mine leaks a little bit but I don't care, it's a truck bed and I knew it wasn't perfectly water tight. If you need perfect water tight get a car with a trunk. There's nothing in the back of my pickup that will melt if a few drops of water touch it. I've had mine for 18 months and I like it.

I had problem after problem after problem. I bought it through a guy that was recommended here. First initial of his name is "M". He pretty much blamed me for the cover(s) not working. After working directly with BAK I have sworn to never buy another product from them. Ultimately they finally gave me a partial refund. I had tons of water pool in my bed (more than reasonable) and soak everything from groceries to strollers to gym equipment.

Thanks for everyone's input so far. I think I am going to wait until it rains on it again in the next week or so, then see how it does, and decide to contact Bak.

I have the BAK rolling cover G2
It was cheaper than a roll n lock
It does leak very little around the tailgate but i got a tailgate seal, put that on around the sides and bottom of the tailgate and used some of it to make a good seal where the side rails meet the tailgate. Some, little leakage but i should have bought a roll n lock.
if you look on YouTube all are installed on a truck without a bedliner
That's where you get screwed because who has a truck and use it as a truck and doesn't have a bedliner?

I'll put some pics when i am not on my cell

Call BAK now. Waiting is an admission that it's working fine. It took almost a month for it to even rain the first time here in DFW and BAK insisted that since I hadn't tested it previously that I must have caused the problem with wear and tear. It comes with a year warranty but I got nothing but grief for even asking the product to work. I was patient at first and then got fed up - no reason my stroller should sit in an inch of water when the product literature clearly states it's designed to be weather resistant. I'm not unreasonable - I totally don't expect anything to be perfect but there was a huge gap in what I was asking for and what they were delivering.
