Do You Fully Trust the Backup Camera?

Depends upon what you are backing up towards
Towards a car/stationary object I use the camera
Backing into the street I turn & look, camera won't show a kid coming down the street on a bike/jogger etc
Drive a big box truck for work, we back up to the front doors to unload
Big awning sticks out so I never back up that much
But one day a lady goes running/screaming off the bench by the door as I back up
Guess she thought I wasn't stopping
Apologized for startling her as I got out.....

I was backing up in broad daylight near a driveway and my camera didn't pick up the mailbox hanging up higher then the camera viewing angle. The base was completely out of view, but the box itself was hanging in my pathway. Only could see it because I checked my side view mirror and saw it. Stopped......got out, and sure enough I was inches from smacking into my tail gate........camera was oblivious to it.

I use my camera quite a bit.
I also turn my head around quite a bit.
I'd say 50/50
Yes, I trust my Camera. It lights up very well at night. No issues. Very bright.

wait. what?
I use the mirrors to see where my sides are and the camera when I get close. this somehow became a habit for me because my old work van had an aftermarket backup camera with the screen resolution of a first generation Gameboy. I couldn't really see much of anything until it was <2 feet away.

since out of all my trucks its the first and only to have a backup cam i find myself not using it as much as i could. I also find it hard to get square in a spot with the cam vs normal mirrors/looking back.

I live next to a park and kids fly by all the time.. mirrors and windows can't see what the camera does.. it sees the kids first!
Do I fully trust it..no, backing into my dock @ work..I use the lines to guide me and 2 outta 3 times I still park crooked... when I use mirrors.. straight as an arrow
