I'm noticing more & more, especially when it's dark, that I'm looking less & less in my mirrors and turning around when backing up. I'm relying more & more on the screen in my dash.

I have a crew cab long bed truck with toolbox in the bed. Always drove a big truck, always have big mirrors to see a lot behind me. Love my mirrors. I remember in driver's ed, the book said to never trust the mirrors, and always turn around and look behind you.

But with this camera, I notice I'm now glancing at my mirrors and staring at the camera. While I'm not totally comfortable solely with the camera, it can show me what's right behind me WAY better than my mirrors or my eyeballs.

What about it? Do you rely solely on the backup camera? Do you back up the way you always have and just use it as a double check?

Nope still turn my head around and use mirrors as well! To many people these days are too lazy and technologically relliant!

I never turn my head or and rarely check mirrors. The camera shows everything I need to see. Not sure how I didn't run over more stuff when I didn't have one.

I use my mirrors for the approach. When I start to get close I use the camera.

First turn and glance.
Mirrors to check the boundaries.
Eyeball the cam for anything directly in the path.
Glance through back window.
Mirrors again.
Settle in close with the cam...so close that I got honked at tonight by the woman in the parked car behind me in the lot. It often scares the wife too from the passenger seat. I can put the bumper within 3" comfortably with that cam.

I only use it to see any low items... like tree stumps, bikes, kids...rest is mirrors or out the back window..

I use mine way more than the mirrors. I still check my mirrors briefly during the backing up process but mostly stare at the camera. Definitely can see better with the camera opposed to turning around and looking out the back window. The problem I have now is that when I drive my old truck, I look for the camera first but it's not there.

I use my mirrors to get everything lined up and to check my angles, and I use the camera to back the rest if the way in and get close...

It also make parallel parking much easier.,, I can actually see my bumper and the other cars front bumper..., no more guess work in that 7ft blind spot.

I rely on it completely. It was the one feature I had to have. Whether it be parking or backing up into my garage.
