Default Looking to buy a 2011 screw ecoboost. Questions

So I'm looking at trading in my wife's car for a 2011 super crew ecoboost for my wife. The truck looks good but has kinda high miles at about 84,000. Should I be concerned about that many miles on a 2011? And if anyone can point out any problem areas that I should look for when I take it for a test drive and check it out.

I currently own a 2013 Raptor and my father inlaw has a 2013 ecoboost also so I am familiar with the f150. I just want to make sure I check everything that's important because this truck is used and I'm not sure if it's still covered by ford.

Thanks

Id say change the plugs when you get it. Motorcraft SP 534s and gap them before you install them. Other than that, Id make the dealer make sure its up to date with the strategy code before you take it.

There is an issue that some have had with time timing chain, happens around 75k miles as I have read here. Have the dealer check the maintenance records for the truck for repairs to help you with your decision. Other than that the shudder issue that came up in the early EB's is all that comes mind.

Early ecoboosts are notorious for intercooler issues. Condensation builds up in the cold air condenser in high-humidity/rainy conditions and gets consequently sucked into the intake which causes the truck to go into limp mode. It is well-documented here on the forum.

Notorious is an extreme exaggerating. Occasional is an accurate word. I had an 11 ecoboost that I ran hard and towed with and never any issues in the 40k miles I had it. Have a buddy with 100k miles, no issues and many have same experience. If you get a good deal, no worries on reliability.

I have a very early 11 EB, August 2011 build and have never had the condensation issue.

I actually would prefer a 2011 as it has a better intercooler, if it hasn't been replaced under TSB's.

I see your point but I don't think I'll have to worry about that. I live in New Mexico it rarely rains and almost no humidity ever.

And BucketMan thanks for that info.
