More than any thing that is telling you that the hand calculated method is probably not accurate then and the margin of error on a single tank is too high.

I will compare for three tanks as well and see how close it is.

The delta of 0.8 or so MPG as it is right now is too high to just be accounted for with the expansion/contraction of fuel. Also my hand calculated is consistently lower than the computer. On my Honda Odyssey the computer and hand calc numbers are dead on - so I am not quite sure which is the correct number.

Mine is pretty accurate, withing 0.5 mpg. For those of us with iPhones, I'd suggest downloading the Gas Cubby Lite app (free). Every time you fill up, you enter in the odometer reading, the number of gallons you pumped, and the price per gallon. It only takes about 30 seconds, and the app gives you your mpg, and tracks how much you spend on gas. You can also keep track of oil changes and routine maint. Really cool statistics.

After checking 5 times at 5 refills I am averaging about 1 mile less per gallon the the display. Not a big deal

I don't know how accurate my computer is, but I desperately want to believe it....I'm getting 19-21 MPG in this beast! I used to get 12 MPG in my Tundra. Thanks FORD!

I'm with this guy. My readout is averaging between 19 and 21 as well, and I have the 2v 4.6 with the 4-speed auto. So long as I don't floor it a lot (which is very tempting!) It'll stay above 20, and that is almost completely city. Verrrry little highway driving.

Mine usually stays on 21 or higher, and when I calculate it out it's usually around 20 or so.

well all i have to say is that i am VERY impressed with my new truck. This past weekend i had to drive to from Dallas to houston and back to Dallas because i had to help my girlfriend move. My AVG MPG on the way down there (with no trailer) was 20.4 (according to my computer) with cruise control on at 75 mph. Then on the way back (with a loaded trailer) i was getting 19.3 MPG with the cruise control this time set at 70. I calculated the mpg and my calculations got 18.9 for the whole trip, so i can not complain since while I was in houston for the weekend i was driving around the city alot as well.
