Default Difference in wheels

What is the difference in the clad XLT wheels that came on my 2013 and the base wheels on the 2014's. Mine are basically just a hubcap right? Is there any weight savings on the new wheels or any other benefit of swapping if it wasn't going to cost me anything.

Here is my truck.

Here are the other wheels I am talking about.

Well they're completely different wheels, and yes the chrome on yours is essentially a hubcap but I think any weight difference between the two different wheels would be negligible. I think the only benefit of swapping would be purely aesthetic.

So which way does the forum lean. I am kind of torn between the two. I like the look of the chrome ones but I don't like the fact that they aren't a solid wheel.

What do you mean they are not a solid wheel?

the chrome is a plastic cover snapped/glued onto an aluminum wheel.

I personally would stick with the chrome, only because for some reason I have never cared for the other style wheel.

To me the chrome ones look and feel cheap. I had the chrome clad 20's and got rid of them for some lariat 20's.

I like the chrome clad on my XLT. The chrome is permanently attached to an aluminum wheel. It ain't going anywhere. Easy to clean, too. Mine is a 2014.

I didn't know the chrome is actually a wheel cover. Interesting. Is it removable?
I'm personally not a fan of chrome but I prefer the shape of your wheels over the windmill-look on the 2014. Besides it's still a solid wheel underneath, not like it's a black steelie or something.

I have seen one or two come off from a chevy before.

Looking at the rim from the back side it appears to be a plastic cover that's permanently bonded to the aluminum wheel.
