Dealership Nightmare Unfolding...?

International man of Myst
No I'm not, the lazy US society is brainwashed over the iphone, oh! they got an app for that. Even if they created this keyfob, people would equally complain it is not reliable or doesn't work all the time. Then the same people would complain it costs too much. The young generation is so infatuated with the touch iphone and I want more gadgets. The Ford OEM works. Too lazy to get up an look out the window. My keyfob works anywhere in my home, never did it not start when I tried using it. I don't need some LED light or feedback, its just starting your truck for goodness sake, the world is not coming to an end.
I'm still entertained by someone with a remote start calling other people lazy.....

And because the world revolves around your needs, nobody else should seek improved feature sets that fits their needs better? Hell, now you can get an OEM cellular start and key fob with feedback.

My KR came with remote start. The tech that's in the truck now is not reliable nor accurate. It doesn't revolve around my needs. If your one of these people that has to have the LED dummy light or a APP to tell you your truck is started , to each his own. Go aftermarket and get what you will. I was commenting that OEM never lives up to peoples needs and wants.

Well my OEM 200 series remote just happens to have a light and beep confirmation that the truck is running. While you might not see the need for that feature it I find it to be a very good thing to have since I work inside the middle of a building with no windows and cannot see my truck since its about 1000' from where I sit so without that functionality I would not know if the truck fired up or not. sometimes I need to hit it more than once to get it to fire up due to how far I have to park and the amount of walls the signal must travel through.
The other "side benefit" I get by confirmation is I know when my trucks battery is dead because if it doesn't fire up after 2 tries I know the truck is stone dead again and I can call ford roadside again without bothering to have to go out to find the truck not running..........

Ya ever think that maybe someone might want to use it in an area that either doesn't have direct line of sight (like gsxr1216) or when it's too bright out to see if the lights are on.
You probably bashed the FM radio when it came out too, "what's wrong with AM radio, these kids with there new fangled toys!"

Lol, entertaining to say the least!
OEM I'd fine for most but aftermarket will always find a way to improve upon it hence why you probably have some sort of small device that beams a signal to outer space and back without wires so you can make a call!
People have different needs for different things. I wake up and start my truck by my bed and go SSS. When done I go out to a warm or cool truck. I like to see that my truck received the command and that the cabin temp is now 72° and that my doors are still locked with 5 more minutes on the timer.
Sorry you are afraid of technology but it's the future!
For the record, there has only been a touch iPhone, there was nothing before that.

Yep that's all you were commenting on:
I don't have a remote starter, and have no need for one, and I'm 33 so I don't consider my self young or old, but when I do see OLD people like you, bashing YOUNG people for no reason, I'm sorry but it pisses me off!

I still don't understand why they got rid of the 8 track. I also am not happy with someone calling young people lazy. There can be both young and old people being lazy.I guess thou i might be lazy when i am getting up at 5:30 in the morning to start my truck with my command start to go to work. Also when i use my single cup coffee machine i am lazy because i don't go chop some wood and start a fire to percolate some coffee up.
Get real
Sorry to the OP as this rant was not even in regards to your post.

I suppose the OEM vs aftermarket debate revolves around the gamble of letting folks cut into a difficult to repair, expensive electrical system. I have aftermarket on my new work truck, I wouldn't even consider that wire splicing garbage on my nice, new F150.
Peace of mind is worth more than gadgetry to me....

Also as I said before, go with a reputable company and you get great work and warranty on work. Mine was soldered and shrink wrapped at the couple connections.
I guess if you're ignorant of how the aftermarket ones work then I could see why people would shy away but with these canbus systems now, it's super easy to add aftermarket.
