Default Dealer gear swap pricing

Anybody have any idea what a dealer might charge to swap both front and rear gear sets out? I got a quote today for about 2 grand and couldn't believe it.

I bet a dealer would be more $$ than a private shop.

Yep. It's labour-intensive.

Labor only or Parts and Labor?

2WD or 4WD? That's about right for Parts and Labor for a 4WD.

I'd imagine most of the labor and cost is in the front end? I was just shocked because when I priced having gears swapped in my mustang labor plus parts was around $500. I was too cheap to pay that so I did that myself but since this truck still has a warranty I'd have a dealer do it and was expecting in the $1000 dollar range.

I bet it would be over $2k at a Ford dealer.

After this sticker shock I'm thinking I'd be better off getting a catless mak y pipe and maybe a boss intake. I already have an sct x4 with 5* tunes so as long as I order the other parts from them I think they update the tunes for free

Dah! He sure did lol

I think gears are a better choose for regaining power lose with the larger tires.

Going with engine mods doesn't make things any easier on your tranny. I'd save and do the gear swap.
