So, I took my lifted '10 Fx4 into the service department for the second time regarding creaking leaf springs and a strange "clunking noise" upon acceleration. The first time, the said there was too much slack in the driveshaft and that my tires were off-balance. They refused to fix it in-shop because it was the aftermarket dealers responsibility. By the way, I went through Ford for my aftermarket stuff.

I took it in again yesterday since taking it to the aftermarket shop yielded no solution. I called them about 8 hours after I dropped it off at the dealership and they had no idea what was wrong.

I called back this morning and they still have no idea. All they said was "lifting these trucks really opens up a lot of problems down the road". Well, they have about 4 lifted trucks from the same aftermarket guy on the lot as I am typing this. They never said problems would occur upon ordering my lift in the dealership. Why would they sell cars that are know to cause problems?

As far as I know, I do not hear about too many problems with lift kits if the installation is done correctly. Since I went through Ford's aftermarket partner, I truly hope they will fix this. My only guess, since they don't have one, is that the installation was done incorrectly.

Even then, it might not even be a lift problem and they are using this as a cop out. Who knows.

my truck made a bad clunking noise come to find out my lift blocks were garbage... make sure your ubolts are tight.

Looking back it my post, it was basically me venting. Haha.

Anyways, I expect Ford to find out if things were not tightened. They have had the truck for 48 hours and they wont tell me what is wrong.

If they have the same answer tomorrow I will mention what you have said and probably take it for a second opinion elsewhere...who knows.

yeah!!! i mean mine did it when u put it in reverse or drive and touched the gas you would hear a loud almost like a snapp noise. soo i had a buddy lay under my truck and he goes dude ur hole rear end is moving sooo i ordered cast iron blocks instead of the aluminum blocks. and havent had one noise yet. the aluminum ones i broke the pins that hold them true to the rear end.

Ahh cool. I'll look into getting some cast iron blocks if that turns out to be the problem.

yeah do you know if your blocks are aluminum? yeah let me know ill send you the site i got mine off of i mean 70 bucks but at least my rear end wont come out now from ur little pic trucks looks sweet by the way!!!!!!!

if you do deciede that you want the cast iron blocks. get big enough ones to compensate for the factory blocks that way you only have one block in the rear vs stacking them if they dont make any that big or cant find any then just stack them but if possible dont stack thats how i think my aluminum ones broke... cuz my u bolts were tight as hell...
