For you guys that upgraded your pads and rotors, which rotors are you going with? Rock Auto has Centric StopTech and PowerStop for reasonable prices. I think I have StopTech on my BMW.

I'm guessing many of you are going with these.

Would y'all believe my truck is STILL in the shop for that brake noise I was complaining about?! They've basically had my truck since 12/11 except for me taking it back one weekend when the front rotors were on order.

So, I got some free rotors, but that didn't fix the problem. I didn't think it was front rotors -- and I told them as much when they told me they were going to replace them. I tell them I have a problem with a noise in the REAR brakes, so they change the FRONT rotors.

A few days a go, I go to pick up my truck with shiny new front rotors. I didn't even get off their lot and heard the noise again. Drove around the block and pulled back in... They've had it for days again now. Yeah, I know it's Christmas, but this is getting frustrating. They even made me come BACK down there for a third test drive. Now three people have heard the noise and agree that it exists. At least they no longer think I'm nuts.

Thank goodness my parents had an old SUV lying around that they were kind enough to loan me until this is over with.

Not expecting anyone to suggest anything useful at this point, but I had to vent, so I'm using my thread to do that.

Are you sure it the brakes? Just wild thought that it could be a iwe or a wheel bearing.

Well, they changed the rear pads again and the problem seems to have gone away. It appears that the first replacement set of pads were defective in some way.

I guess in the long run I can't complain... It may have taken 2 weeks, but I ended up with new front rotors, new front pads, and a new set of rear pads at 35800 miles! Except for rear rotors (which are fine), I have new brakes again!

Not a bad resolution. End of the day, you probably won't have to mess with them for a while.

Generally, when I change out my brakes, I try to seek out the best products, Raybestos makes a "police" version of it's brakes for the F150, when I change mine out, that is what I'll order, I have had good luck with this product in the past on both my own cars and fleet cars as well.
