Default Dealer ad stickers (paint?)

I haven't seen a thread recently about this, and although I mentioned it as an aside in a different thread, I wanted to get more feedback:

I notice on a lot of new car lots that certain dealers either put a sticker on their new cars/trucks advertising their location, or sometimes it even appears to be painted on. Thankfully, my local dealer doesn't do this, but if I ever bought a new vehicle and the dealer painted their logo on it, I would be pretty pissed.

Just wondering how many people out there have received this "surprise", and how folks generally deal with it. If the logo is painted on, it would seem to me that it would be tough to remove without damaging the factory paint underneath; or maybe the "painted on" logo is just a sticker that looks painted on. Anyway, I'm just curious about this should I ever have to deal with it in the future .....

Mine had a small decal w/ dealer name just below F150 emblem on tailgate, which came off as soon as I got home. Nearly did that during walk-around inspection while sales guy was watching but figured no need to offend...

I would tell them to take it off or pay me for there advertizing. I even take off the license plate holders the instant I get home.

For some of my previous cars I made the dealer take it off before I drove off the lot.
On my current F-150 I didn't notice until I got home but it was real easy... All you need is a hair dryer and slow peel...

PS: I also always remove license plate frames with dealer branding. No frame is cleaner.

Removed as soon as I got home and flipped the plate holder inside out too until I got my real plate.

I think you're just seeing vinyl sticker. Pretty sure no dealer is going through the trouble of painting a logo on when stickers are a few pennies.

Ditto on both points (and trash the plate holder)...

You can remove the sticker with a litte heat. Say the hot sun and WD40 to remove the glue without damaging the paint. I too remove all dealership advertisement.
