just found this sight guys doing a search, I am having serious issues with my 2013 f150 eco-Boost screw 4x4, battery went dead 1st time at 2,200 miles and now at 2,800 miles it has been towed or jumped 5 times!!!! Ford keeps telling dealer to replace battery and send me on my way. Ford has terrible customer service, luckily my dealer is stepping up and replacing truck with a brand new one, it has been in the service dept aprox, 1 month of the 4 months I have owned it!
dealer service dept is beside themselves, they can not diagnose whats draining the battery and Ford engineers have been of no help!

Hi bowhunter burk,

Send me a PM with your information so I can look into this for you. To get the ball rolling, I'll need your VIN, dealer, mileage, daytime phone number, and full name.

Crystal

Crystal,
Already have a case open with Ford, what a joke! Ford should be embarrassed , when are they going to admit there is a issue with something making these batteries go dead?
Ford keeps telling dealership to put a new battery in and send me on my way? Really ? 5 bad batteries in 2,800 miles? Get real!
RESQLAB.... Good luck, your nightmare has just started!
I farm 2,400 acres and our farm buys roughly 2 new trucks a year, between me and my brothers, I'm pretty sure Ford has lost our business !

By the way,,,, dealer keeps promising to take truck back and replace it, sounds great right? Except for they have been promising for 3 weeks now! Now I need to take my truck out of state for trap shoot tourney and still nothing done! So when I ask for a jump start in front of 300-400 potential customers, I will be sure to fill them in on my lemon!
Next step is to order big yellow lemon magnets for each door

Default last ford for me!

after 3 months of misery and , 3 weeks of dealer promising to replace truck with me paying for miles on the truck at 30 cents per mile, ford now wants the truck again for a week, so engineers from Detroit can come to my dealer to try to figure out the problem!!!!
I can guarantee myself, family or anyone who knows my story will never buy a Ford product ever!!! Great customer service Ford, hope its worth it!
not to mention I missed going on my out of state trip, because I have a $42,000 piece of crap that is not reliable with only 3,000 miles on it!!
makes me want to puke!

Also, you won't wake up the system when pulling a fuse unless you open the door to do so. You basically need to stay in the truck and read the meter while pulling fuses.

An awake truck will easily pull 500mA or more. Most modules won't pull that much during a parasitic drain (IP cluster and Radio Head Unit are some of the exceptions).

But he is correct on changing the battery. Time is money, it is just faster to replace the battery. Dealerships sell off the used batteries so really they don't lose much money. Hope is next time truck is out of warranty, or driving habits change to keep a higher state of charge or get lucky and the battery was faulty to begin with (which really isn't out of the question with today's batteries).
Alldata says UP to forty minutes for all modules to shut down.

Six post and five batteries and nothing good to say about Ford service. Any one who listens to you should buy a Ford just for effort put into your wows. Maybe they should train you to sit and babysit your truck to see what module wakes up for feeding in the middle of the night for free of course just to make it fair. Hope they buy your truck back so you get to join another forum. Guys like you make me realize why there are no young techs in this trade. Thanks man guys like you are why everyone says they need a code for a dead battery. By the way you sound like one of the guys that show up bitching about everywhere you have been and no one can fix your truck that I send down the road with and empty bay for the next three hours.

Touch base with me when you have an update from the dealership, shinny. If you need my assistance, send a PM my way with your VIN, dealer, mileage, daytime phone number, and full name.
