Daystar Leveling Kit - Bolts Snapped!!

It could be:
Over torqued.
Knock-off Chinese metal to save money.
Defective bolt stock.
Inappropriate grade of steel for the job.
Daystar needs these bolts back so they can have the manufacturer trace the lot number. All high quality bolts are traceable for just such problems. If it's cheap Chinese steel and Daystar knows it, then everyone needs to know they use cheap crap. Either way, Daystar needs to fix this.

I've had the Daystar 1" level in for a few years now (was off for a few months, long story). So it's been on and off a few times I've never had a problem and I didn't have to cut any studs. I'm not worried.

Hey guys, the stock bolts were not cut too long nor over tightened. When tightening down with hand tools they all just snapped off before you could even get a lock washer squeezed down. Perhaps it was a faulty CNC run but who knows how many of these are out there. 1000s?
I instead ordered the Rancho Quicklift assembly, but it hasn't arrived yet.

In general I think its just a very poor design. Cutting (and extending) factory studs is just a bad idea. You are putting an enormous amount of faith on very weak, slim portion of metal. Instead of one solid through bolt. This is a blessing in disguise, and I'm glad it happened so I could avert a future issue.
For those of you that have them installed already, I guess just consider the next time you need shocks or front-end work that it might be a good idea to go with another solution. I hear Bilstein 5100s and the Rancho Quicklift are good solutions for not only a lift, but also improved handling in general.
Hand tools should not break these things! If this was a grade 8 through-bolt you could not break it with hand tools no matter how hard you tried. Daystar's extension bolts are way to delicate.
