Crappy Air Conditioning-Has Anyone Thought About A Class Action Suit?

I hear you. Yours is probably as bad or worse than mine. I have not tested it ib 92F yet.
I'd bet that the dealer tested it inside, in nice shady shop, while running in max after getting everything cooled down. Mine works well when the outside temperatures are in the 60s or less too.

Of course it does. With the pump at higher RPM relative to engine RPM, the compressor is building and maintaining pressure while air is flowing through the engine bay, instead of having all the components heat soaked with a hot idiling engine.

Bang on. My wife's $18,000.00 2009 Grand Caravan puts my truck to shame within five minutes. It uses the same refrigerant.

I put a thermometer in the vent of my 03 (different gen, I know. Work with me here.) With 176k miles. At a stand still idle in 90°+ weather, about 33-35°, maybe a little lower. Driving in the same weather? 28-29°. Something is wrong there on your end, and is NOT normal. We had an Acadia with the A/C not working in warm weather. Turns out it was nothing more than the ambient temp sensor, so I wouldn't doubt that being a possible issue.
I suspect something like that too, but the dealers won't go that far. If it works well inside in a cool shop, it must be good.

sigma pi,
My numbers and others are in this post. A search will find many other posts with the same issues I have.

If what comes out of the vents is not cold, it is not abstract at all.

Thats awful mate.
The only way I would accept that is if I had 6 people in the cab and they just got done doing a full day of outside work.

The AC in every vehicle I've ever owned: Ford, Chevy, Dodge work best when moving and will get hot if you are just sitting parked/in traffic. I'm not a lawyer but I don't think you'd win a suit for your AC not getting cool enough. If your AC is blowing anything lower than 70 degrees and your still sweating you may want to get checked by a doctor. You may have a health issue. I keep mine set at 74 and am cool and comfy.
I would like mine to get down to 70F. It hasn't made it there yet. My Siberian Husky would like that too. My last truck, a 1998 Silverado, would freeze me out at idle. I sold it after 14.5 years and its A/C was never even serviced.
If you want yours at 74F and it was blowing 70F out the vents, it would take you hours to get down to your desired temperature.
As for my health issues, I'm an old fart trying to stay cool and my truck basically has two heaters. It was comfortable when I got it, but not now.
All winter, we keep our house at 69F. We would be melting in an enclosed space at 74F.
