Crappy Air Conditioning-Has Anyone Thought About A Class Action Suit?

What folks are failing to realize, this does not involve your trucks color, tinted windows or whatever! Its about the discharge temperature off of the evaporator that has been impacted by Ford changing the system for better fuel economy!

Riiiiight. Might want to call your congressmen and get them on that again lol.
Since you are so familiar with the courts you would think you would know that your warranty has binding arbitration clauses. You can't take them to small claims court. You have to play in their stacked deck arbitration system which is slow and not set up to favor the owner. They will bleed you dry over a $400 warranty repair.
That is why your solution has a very small chance of working well. I wish it were otherwise, but it isn't.
Gem, is it the same in Canada?

Binding arbitration clauses are ignored by the Courts. As to the rest of your statements I have the experience to say you really have no idea what you are talking about. If you document a repair that should have been covered under warranty, only a fool would end up in Court. I am pretty sure you have not sued attorneys and won. Neither have you had one sanctioned. I have done both. I once sued someone for a $50 bounced check. I wouldn't do it again, but they paid $200, plus Court costs. It was well over $300. I garnished their wages.
I am real interested in your experience/expertise. I can back my opinions. So far yours are unfounded.

That sounds right. Where did you get the information from?

ColeLarry,
I have read so many posts all over this forum and other Ford 3rd party forums on the internet related to AC issues and noisy electric fan issues.
What I have gathered is this: Ford had to or wanted to increase fuel economy within the F150. They addressed some of it within AC changes by altering the on/off cycle. As admitted by the service Director at my dealer, Ford the use to be able to go in and modify the compressor cycle based on customer complaints. But since the new trucks have this programmed in the PCM, they no longer can. (at least this is what I am told by him)
You should also notice that they moved the cooling fan off of the engine to now NOISY electric fans. After these 2 changes I assume and when initial complaints started about poor cooling performance within the F150, Ford UPPED THE FREQUENCY of the cycling of the electric cooling fans. See Ford SSM 44451. In doing this, complaints then began about the "tornado fans" under the hood.
Since these new systems only hold 24 ounces, less than older years I believe, I assume that this also saves them money on building the trucks and has led to a poor performing system in some areas.....

I live in arizona and it gets extremely hot out here. And it's a dryer climate...so I'm wondering if the more humid areas are the ones having issues? I'm used to the sound of dual electric fans as I installed them on my last two trucks...a 01 Silverado and a 04 Titan - a must have for AZ.
When you turn the manual AC dial on my 14 XLT to full cold and turn on max air....you could hang beef in the cab! And it's been 117° pulling through AZ to Cali.

I know there are Forum posts. That is all I could find. No offense, but much of what you "assume" is not based in fact.
Complaint on A/C issues are not isolated to Ford. Of course Ford is trying to make it better and for less money. The MPG numbers are not based on running with the A/C on. So there is no incentive to make that system less efficient. My A/C works great. Then again, my central air has not been run once this year and it has been at or near 100 many times. I often get in the truck to leave work when it has been sitting in the sun, with the windows up and it is brutally hot. I turn on the A/C and appreciate the cool breeze. After awhile I turn the fan down too. I really don't get all the complaining and whining.

Believe what you want, my concise information is based on what others have relayed in their experiences. Cycling an ac certainly does impact MPG. Why would a car get better gas mileage with the ac off then?
Good luck!
Good luck!
