Coyote tow stories

Now that the thread is cleaned up I have a question to ask? I have a 13 5.0 SCab FX4 3.73. I recently splurged on rims 20x8.5. The rims I bought used look better suited for a M/T tire and got an Awsome quote on some Amp Terrain M/T tires, only two options for 33" tires in a 20" rim 305/55r20 or 275/60r20, I'm running a 2" level and 3" block, I'll be towing quite a bit this summer at maximum 6000 LBs. My question is which tire is better suited it which size would you recommend? I am also stock as for engine and exhaust and not interested in a tuner for warranty purposes
Thanks
Thanks
Again, I'm running a 35" tire, and yes...it does cut it down a little, but especially with the 3.73's it is NOT that bad.
I do NOT have a tuner & only have a Banks Monster exhaust cat-back system.
Again, my truck towed great & even my best friend couldn't believe how well it performed. I love my 5.0 !!!!

Awsome, thank you lethal weapon 09 I'm probably going to go 305 just because I like the overall stance and the rims I bought will look better with a wider tire, they were previously mounted on a 2008 FX4 with a 2" level with 325/50r20 Procomp Xtreme AT

Just a preference of mine, but I'd suggest LT tires, you'd have a bit more lateral stability with the heavier sidewalls. Likely a moot pointe though since you're really not dragging a big load.

My last truck was a 2012 FX4 screw with the 5.0 and 3.73's. First tow was a lifted TJ Wrangler a buddy bought in Canton Ohio. I offered to tow it back (about 300 miles). The truck held 6th at 70 mph on cruise and would drop to 5th on the bigger hills. Me and my buddy were impressed. Truck had stock tires on it. It actually downshifted LESS with the trailer and Jeep on the interstate than the wife's then 08 Expedition with 5.4 and 3.31's hauling itself around.
2nd tow was a 90 LX 5.0. Truck had a leveling kit and 34" Trails. Again, effortless despite the tire size.
3rd tow was the aforementioned expedition. Had a vct go out so I decided to tow it to dealer (25 miles). Loading it onto the trailer actually picked the rear tires off the ground on the truck. I knew this one was heavy. 5th on the hills and 6th on level interstate. 70 mph. All towing was a 2,000 all steel deck car hauler.
In my opinion, the 5.0 especially with 3.73's is a towing machine. It had plenty of reserve power at all times.
The F150 itself handles weight great. No sway, brake controller is outstanding, etc. I loved the 3.73 gear. Wish my ECO had it. The 5.0 delivered over 21 mpg on trips and 16-17 mpg locally.

This is my 2012 4wd, 5.0, with 3.55 gears and our 2010 Keystone Bullet 294bhs. Dry weight is 5563lbs and hitch weight is 560lbs. Pulls great with tow haul mode and locking out 6th gear when needed to prevent hunting. Usually average about 10 mpg. Michelin E rated mtx's definitely help the towing feel.
