Default Rear window with defrost

I purchased a 2010 f-150 crew car from a individual. It has the rear window slider and defrost. Problem is when i push the button on the dash nothing happens. Just found out they had to have it replaced. Don't really care about the rear window but the truck also has heated mirrors and if the button doesn't come on then are the going to work. Any help here would be really thankful.

First things to check would be fuses on the passenger kick panel, then take the center dash piece out and check for power. Couple starting points atleast. It's probably a bad fuse or ground.

What are you trying to make work? The defroster or the slider. My 2010 has the slider control switch on the overhead console, not the dash.

If you're trying to get the defroster to work, it should have a separate switch on the dash.

***Many users on here have disconnected the fuse for the rear defrost because of the exploding window issue. Do a search on "exploding rear slider" and you'll see hundreds of people encountering that.***

As for me, I replaced my non-defrost solid window w/a slider that has a defroster. Everything was "plug & play", but I did NOT insert the fuse for the defroster because of the exploding issue.

The rear defrost grid and the heated side view mirrors are on separate circuits. The fuse of the rear defrost is in the engine bay junction box and the fuse for the heated mirrors is in the passenger foot well fuse panel. The switch on the dash activates both circuits at the same time.

I also pulled the fuse for the rear defrost on my truck to avoid the exploding window issue. But my heated mirrors still work.

Thanks for all the replies. The slider does work. So if the fuse is pulled for the rear defrost and the heated mirror fuse is still there the button on the dash should light up for them right? Thanks for the help.

Yes, the dash button should still light up.
