Default Search Cooper Tire Company ....

Second biggest tire manufacture in the World .... They make many of your best off road tires sold under different names ... Mickey Thompson , Dick Cepek , Master-craft , Guardian & Dean... to name a few and they even Make a tire sold under the Duck Commander name . Look at owner reviews for any of these and they rate very high compared to other big name tires .... I just bought a set of Cooper ST Max and they are really great so far .... So if you want a Cooper Quality tire that is a little cheaper ... there are many to choose from ... Im not a fan of BFG or Goodferayear overpriced for an OK tire ....

I have about 7K on my ATPs and I've been happy with them. Haven't had a chance to test them in much snow yet. The only good storm we've had was cleaned up before I needed to leave the house.

I'm on the LT 275/65/18 Cooper AT3s currently. I did considerable research and at the end of the day I went with these. I'm in NE of Canada and have already had 2 major snow falls and plenty of adverse driving conditions. I'm very happy with my choice. They ride very quiet and smooth for a fairly aggressive tread. If you want you could pat a little mor and buy the newest Cooper tire the ATW that has the same tread pattern but is their winter tire.

I wouldn't call them anywhere near aggressive. But Cooper makes great real winter tires.

Thanks to everyone for your insight into Cooper Tires. I feel much better now about spending the $$$ on a set. Guess now I just need to choose between a set of ATP's or a set of AT/3's.... I like the more aggressive look of the ATP's but feel like the AT/3's would maybe grip better in winter conditions. Being from Florida I will only see snow once a year on our annual trip to Colorado. Most of my driving is interstate between Florida and Louisiana every two weeks.

I have around 30k miles on them now and are still doing well but are starting to make a bit of a road hum I do not care for. My guess is because of the size, I think the road noise would be quieter if they were around the stock tire size or not as wide. The center lugs are huge on this tire size. They do work well here in Florida on the sandy beaches and in rainy conditions.

The ATP looks good, I like the shoulder lugs, but I do not have any experience with them.

Either tire should do well on your trip out to Colorado in snowy conditions especially when new.

I've run three different types of Coopers tires, STT's, M/S's, & AT3's, all good tires for the purpose they were made. I thought I'd stay with Cooper for a lot longer but the new Nitto Grappler G2 and AWT are certainly getting my attention. Mainly that G2.

Where in CO are you headed?
We're heading to Cotopaxi Colorado where my Wife's dad lives for most of the trip. He has a 35 acer ranch up at 7,500ft. Cotopaxi is about a 30min drive from Salida on HWY 50. We ski at Monarch almost every day while there. Will also be going back to Breckenridge then Keystone then head over Loveland pass down to Denver for a few days. Will go back to Colorado Springs for a few days to see some friends then back up to Cotopaxi before heading back to Florida. Hope to maybe make it to Vail and Aspen.... not sure yet.

Ive bought 3 sets of ATP's. Great all around tire at a very reasonable price. The only downside that I have noticed in them is they hold a lot of rocks until highway speeds, then they let loose!

I put a set of Hercules Terra Tracs on my dad's truck, they are made by Cooper. They look similar to the ATP tread pattern. Ride quality is real good.

Been running stts on my last three trucks and love them. Toyos wore entirely too quick and I had sidewall issues with nittos.
