I just want to go on record that you COULD pay me to drive a new comparably equipped Dodge or Chevy and it would only take the payment every month. Anybody who wants to do this, please PM me.

Consumer Reports reviews are good for TVs and toasters, but their truck auto reviewers are a bunch of city boy clowns. They are admittedly car guys and vote for the best "car like" truck. Tom Mutchler, CR's senior auto engineer, not only believes that the Chevy Avalanche is a truck, but that it is the best truck overall which is one reason why it has been named the years best truck over 4 times. Also, GM trucks have dominated their "best truck" for the past 7 years so what does that tell you. They look for the best "car-truck" and as we all know the F150 does not fit that bill compared to the others.

Their testing is also questionable. In their performance test, they said the Ecoboost and 5.0L is slower than both GM twins yet every other major truck publication like Motor Trend and PUT.com has both Ford engines being quicker than the GM twins. They also say that the Ecoboost and 5.0L are with the low 16s in the quarter mile while the GM twins are in the high 15s. Every other publication also has the F150 stopping sooner than the Ram, yet they don't in their tests.

Also, it is very apparent by their owners satisfaction survey that not everyone agrees with them. Of all half tons, the F150 scored the highest in owner satisfaction which in my opinion says more about a truck than how "car like" it is.

They did put the F150 5.0L as a recommended buy along with the Ram and Tundra. They did not however pick the F150 Ecoboost as a recommended buy do to reliability issues they said, but if you look at the reliability history of both, the issues the Ecoboost trucks were having were not engine related although the 2011 and 2012 were.

The Silverado did not even make it as a recommended buy yet they still parade it over the F150 which tells you how much they love their GMs. Unbiased my *****. For those that don't believe me that they pick the best "car like" truck, this video will tell you all you need to know about these nerds. They should stick to testing their VW Jetta's and leave the truck reviews to the men.

I don't believe any reports. They voted the 2014 Chevy 1500 the truck of the year(Not consumer reports but another place) and then Chevy recalls a ton of them for fires. Biased douchers..

These ratings (motor trend truck of the year, consumer reports, etc) only mean something when your brand of choice is on top, then it's all legit bragging rights.

Find your brand of choice behind a few of the competitors? BS ALL PROPAGANDA PAID OFF LIES

No other segment will you find brand loyalty as strong as the pickup trucks, not even close.

It's always entertaining to see how butthurt some guys get over reviews in magazines though.

This is just the regular cycle of truck supremacy one year or the next or so to keep folks interested in and buying new trucks.

Each major US truck brand gets to wear the crown for a year, maybe two (in the case of the RAM recently), but the others usually leapfrog each other as new versions and technology comes out. Although I think GMC might be in trouble, as the new F-150 will surely clean house with the RAM a solid second choice.

But I am not concerned at all that the F-150 won't resume and retain for a good while the best overall truck rating when it comes out.

LOL - Your posts seem as if you're pretty upset about a review that you claim has no credibility.

Try and ignore the word 'religious', I'm not looking to start ww3 here, but this fits you perfectly.
Sorry, I couldn't resist

Ahhh so it's a big conspiracy and CR is in on it!

Maybe all the automakers are run by he same person/people and they're just playing us for the fools we are.
Keeping us arguing about different brands, making guys compete against each other for the newest and best while sitting back laughing.
They must also own CR, they manipulate the ratings each year in order to keep the conspiracy going.

Only for pickup trucks though, of course. Not any other automobiles, or toasters, or tvs, or anything else, just pickup trucks.

Do any of you guys agree with Consumer Reports past top picks in the "pickup truck" category?

2014 Ram 1500
2013 Silverado 1500
2012 Avalanche
2011 Avalanche
2010 Silverado 1500
2009 Avalanche
2008 Silverado 1500
2007 Silverado 1500

Conspiracy theory or not, there is a trend there especially from a group that their leader talks about how much he loves Avalanches. Either way, what they say about trucks holds no weight with me.
